The Internet teaches you many things today, and so it can teach you the guitar as well. There are sites that teach you the basics, and once you’re done with those, there are others which teach you songs. There are software that can make learning very easy, and if all this isn’t enough, you can log on to popular video websites like YouTube, where you will find a teacher for almost any song in the world!

Lessons come in a variety of options. You can go the human route, but when you hire someone to teach you, make sure that you have plenty of money. Lessons can be costly. However, a teacher doesn’t have to be a retired band member in order to teach you to play, and play well.

It’s about three minutes into my first class when I realize that what James Taylor makes look as easy as sledding down a hill, for me will be like climbing Mount Everest. I certainly don’t expect to walk out of the first class being able to play Stairway to Heaven, but I also don’t expect to need the paramedics to put me in traction. My hands are too sore to open the bottle of Alves when I get home. What was I thinking?

Discomfort – even pain, is normal when you begin to play guitar. Think about it. You are training your muscles to do things that they have never had to do before. It’s natural that they should complain. Although this is a small stage in learning guitar, in terms of time, the physical discomfort can often turn people off guitar playing for life.

You can buy additional courses and if you purchase the additional courses with the acoustic for beginners online, you’ll get a discount. Some of the additional courses are Jamorama Lead guitar, which teaches techniques for playing lead guitar in a band and for playing guitar solos, Acoustic Jamorama and Singorama.

Although it looks more complicated, there are only 5 different notes in this scale. You can make it more fluent by using pull-offs to the open strings. Twice as fast with no more effort! As Em is the relative minor of G, you could use this for any song in the key of G too.

The next step to reading and playing octaves from guitar sheet music is to play two octaves in a row on the same string sets. Make sure you keep your fingers from your non-dominant hand in position when sliding from one octave to the next. This is a technique that does require practice, but will ultimately make reading octaves much easier.

With the arrival of the Internet, that equation has changed irrevocably. Today, there are a large number of online websites that teach how to play the guitar, right from the simple basics to complex chord structures and styles. All you need is access to a computer and the Internet. You can choose a website that best suits your needs. Once you have zeroed in on a site you can start taking your guitar lessons.
