Founded in 2001, this biennial competition has launched the careers of seven world-class talents including Lin. CMS will present two other concerts during their residency at the Harris Theater this season, including “French Revelations” on March 18, 2014, a program of innovative French music of the 20th century characterized as “faire plaisir” (“giving pleasure”).CMS will close out its Harris residency on April 29, 2014 with Beethoven’s complete Cello Sonatas. Founded by professional musicians Jo and Harvey Boatright, the retreat is sponsored by the Walden Chamber Music Society. Pianist Jo Boatright, who has had a national and international performance career as a soloist with symphony orchestras including the Boston Pops, will conduct classes. She co-founded the Walden Music Ensemble and continues to be the pianist for the Walden group subscription concert seasons held throughout the year in Chaffee County.
